ONPHA is the voice of non-profit housing in Ontario
ONPHA unites 770 non-profit organizations providing housing in 220 communities across Ontario. Our members include municipal and private non-profits of all sizes, with all types of funding.
Since ONPHA was founded in 1988, our membership has grown every year. Why? Because non-profit housing providers can count on the services ONPHA offers.
ONPHA is the authority on non-profit housing. Thanks to the experience of our members and the expertise of our staff, we know non-profit housing better than anyone. We research, track and analyse the current housing situation across Ontario.
ONPHA provides strong presentation. ONPHA is the recognized voice of Ontario's non-profit housing at the municipal, provincial and federal levels. We develop pragmatic policy alternatives, and work with government to achieve equitable solutions.
ONPHA is a respected information centre. Our comprehensive website www.onpha.on.ca is updated daily. This online resource centre provides the unique tools that non-profit housing providers need: fact sheets and guidebooks, template policies and contracts, forms, spreadsheets and assessment systems. Our communicationseAlerts, bulletins, and newsletterskeep our membets on top of the latest news and analysis.
ONPHA provides specialized education. ONPHA's Knowledge Advantage Program delivers over 40 courses and workshops for non-profit housing boards and staff across the province each year, offers distance education opportunities, and brings professional development to our members' doors with customized courses.
ONPHA promotes housing management excellence. Our Management Help Hotline provides expert advice instantly over the phone or online. Our Social Housing Management Series includes twelve handbooks on all aspects of housing management; our 20 'Info On' knowledge sheets address our members' thorniest management issues.
ONPHA fosters strategic connections. We support local networks of housing providers in Ontario's 47 service areas, help build good working relations between non-profits and municipal Service Managers, and share information on good local practices. We host regional meetings throughout Ontario, and our electronic listservs connect members with common concerns.
ONPHA helps make new housing happen. ONPHA makes a strong case for more non-profit housing to the top decision-makers, gathers innovative policy ideas, and provides training and resources for non-profits building new housing.
ONPHA saves our members money. Many ONPHA members earn their member dues back several times over with their savings from our Best Deals bulk purchasing program on gas, appliances, paint, hardware, employee benefits, and more.
ONPHA hosts the largest non-profit housing event in Canada. Each year, more than 1,500 people attend ONPHA's Annual Conference and Trade Show for over 70 workshops, dozens of courses, tours, award presentations, networking dinners, top notch speakers and much more.
