2006 conference

Conference Highlights:

  • Over 1400 housing providers, 75 trade show exhibitors, and 117 speakers from across the province and beyond gathered in Toronto to participate in our 18th annual conference.
  • John Gerretsen, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, spoke at the Closing Lunch, where he announced a partnership with ONPHA.
  • ONPHA presented three awards for excellence in social housing:
    • Alice Radley, of P.H.A.R.A., the 2006 recipient of the Sybil Frenette Outstanding Leadership Award. View awards video
    • Cambridge Kiwanis Village Non-Profit Housing Corp., the 2006 recipient of the Award for Excellence. View awards video
    • Marnie North, Fred Bishop, Carole Ladouceur, and The Wesview Tenant's Association were the 2006 recipients of the Tenant Achievement Recognition Awards. View awards video

2005 conference

Conference Highlights:

  • Keynote speeches from the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing John Gerretsen, Joe Fontana, the federal Minister of Labour and Housing, and Donna Cansfield, the Minister of Energy
  • ONPHA presented three awards for excellence in social housing:
    • WoodGreen Community Housing Inc. on behalf of its Homeward Bound Program received the Award for Excellence. View award video
    • Ishbel Solvason-Wiebe of the Social Housing Registry of Ottawa was presented with the Sybil Frenette Outstanding Leadership Award. View award video
